COMPOSITION:
Dextromethorphan HBr, H2O 5 mg
Benzocaine 7.5 mg
INDICATIONS:
Temporarily suppress coughs due to minor throat and bronchial irritation occurring with the common cold.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:
Adults and children above 12 years old:
- Dissolve 2 lozenges slowly in the mouth, one after the other every 4 hours as needed, not to exceed 12 lozenges in 24 hours, or as directed by a doctor.
Children from 6 to under 12 years old:
- Dissolve 1 lozenge slowly in the mouth every 4 hours as needed, not to exceed 6 lozenges in 24 hours, or as directed by a doctor.
Children under 6 years old: Consult a physician.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Patients have taking MAOI. Children under 2 years old.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
Do not exceed recommended dosage.
Do not use this product if you have a history of allergy to local anesthetics such as procaine, butacaine, benzocaine or any other caine anesthetics.
A persistent cough may be a sign of a serious condition. If cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache, consult a doctor.
If pregnant or breast-feeding, consult a doctor.
In case of overdose, come to a nearest hospital immediately.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Drowsiness, dizziness and nausea.
INTERACTIONS:
Do not use if you are taking a prescription of monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions or Parkinson’s disease), or for two weeks after stopping the MAOI. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
