ETC / RX - Systemic anti-infective agents - Spiranisol
Spiramycin 750.000 IU
Metronidazole 125 mg
Per each film coated tablet.
Stomatological infections: dental abscesses, phlegmon, perimaxillary cellulitis, pericoronitis, gingivitis, stomatitis, parodonitis, parotiditis, submaxillitis.
Preventive treatment of the post-operative local infectious complications in odontostomatologic surgery.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:
Adult: 2 tablets/time x 2 – 3 times/ day.
Children 10 -15 years: 1 tablet/time x 3 times/day.
Children 6 -10 years: 1 tablet/time x 2 times/day.
The tablets should be taken during the meals.
Hypersensitivity to macrolide and/or imidazoles.
First trimester of pregnancy.
Children under 6 years.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
The treatment should be discontinued in case of dizziness, ataxia, mental confusion.
Patients with a history of central or peripheral neurological disorders.
Avoid concomitant administration of alcoholic beverages.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dyspepsia, fatigue, rash, urticaria, metallic taste, brown-reddish discoloration of urine, transient leucopenia.
Patients taking anticoagulants with Spiranisol may have an increased effect of anticoagulants.
Patients taking disulfiram with Spiranisol may have an increase in side effects affecting the central nervous system.
Spiranisol may interfere with the effectiveness of oral contraceptive pills.
